Depp’s Pink Firefly (1890)

This Kentucky heirloom dates back to 1890 from the Depp family of Glasgow, Kentucky. The dusky pink meaty fruit average 12-16 ounces and have great flavor. Indeterminate, potato leaf foliage. (85 days from transplant)

Dix Doigts de Naples

Djena Lee's Golden Girl (1920s)

Djena Lee had grown this variety in Minnesota in the 1920’s. In 1929 she gave some to Reverend Morrow who preserved this variety for many years. Apparently this variety won first place at the Chicago Fair for 10 years in a row! The medium size golden fruit are very tasty. Indeterminate. (80 days from transplant)

Droplet

An excellent small fruited variety that is very productive. The red fruit are pear shaped with a point on the bottom and average about an inch long. The determinate plants can easily be grown in large pots and are great for salads. Determinate, regular leaf foliage. (60 days)

Druzba

An old Bulgarian heirloom that is one of the most delicious and problem free tomatoes that I grow. The deep red globes are 8-12 ounces and produced in clusters of three or four. Dwarf Champion (1886)

The determinate plants are extremely disease free and sturdy with extremely thick stems and rugose foliage. In 1896 the A. W. Livingston catalogue wrote "We make a specialty of this grand and very distinct variety and have grown a number of acres every year since its introduction. A single plant of it was found some ten years ago (1886) in a field of our Acmes." In 1898, the Nebraska Seed Co wrote that Dwarf Champion was "a very distinct, new variety, of tree like, upright growth." The fruit are reddish and about 6-8 ounces. Good tasting. A beautiful plant. Determinate, rugose foliage. EXTREMELY RARE. (70 days from transplant)
