Green Delicious Squash (1903) (C.Maxima)

(aka Delicious) Originally introduced by James J.H. Gregory & Sons of Marblehead, Massachusetts in 1903. According to The Vegetables of New York by U.P. Herdrick, “it is regarded by many as the finest of all squash in quality.” I am so happy to be able to finally offer this rare and endangered heirloom squash variety to my customers after years and years of searching for it! This much sought after heirloom squash lives up to its name and produces 6-8 lb olive green fruit that have thick golden yellow delicious flesh. Great for baking or almost any other recipe that calls for winter squash. Green Delicious is also a good keeper. (100 days to maturity)
